For all the credit given to the Packers' linebackers and defensive backs, and the game balls given to CB Charles Woodson and ILB Nick Barnett, the impact of the line on the defense's dominating effort shouldn't be underestimated.  

Statistically, Roy Williams had his best performance yet as a Dallas Cowboy.  

The Cowboys needed a first down against Philadelphia in last Sunday's fight for first in the NFC East. On third-and-9, and a hostile crowd wailing, the Cowboys sent in the perfect player for the pressure situation.

Despite what you might have heard elsewhere, there's a positive vibe in the Cowboys' locker room these days.  

It could be tough for us, fans, to relax and watch the day games without twiddling our thumbs in anxiety over such thoughts as, "will Miles Austin's touchdown streak continue?" or "can the secondary stop DeSean Jackson?" Certainly, there are many other stories to the game to focus on, but lately it has been the continued emergence of these two weapons that has greatly increased the threat of these teams' respective offenses. The first NFL Draft took place in 1936, with the Philadelphia Eagles selecting, ironically enough, the inaugural winner of the Heisman Trophy, University of Chicago halfback Jay Berwanger.  

Reaching high into the air to swat down Matt Hasselbeck's pass, Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Stephen Bowen looked a lot like the star basketball player he once was at Half Hollow Hills West High School in Dix Hills, N.Y. Bowen's deflection at the line of scrimmage was one of the biggest defensive plays in the 38-17 win over Seattle, but it got lost among several other gems, including Bobby Carpenter's sack on a key third down and Terence Newman's team-high third forced fumble.
